On March 8th, my husband and I will celebrate our 10 year “Glad I Met You” anniversary!

I can hardly believe it… 10 years… I mean that is a freakin’ decade.  So much has happened and everyday I’m grateful that he puts up with my shenanigans!

So in honor of our 10 years I made him a bookshelf!

I KNOW!!!  It sounds scarier that it was.  I had a mentor help me through the entire project.  I told him what I wanted and he drew up the design and together we went to Home Depot to pick out the “raw materials”.  Then he taught me how to use all his power tools.  It was a lot of fun and I learned so much.  My favorite tool, after the nail gun, was the sander.  Sanding is a seriously zen exercise.

The bookshelf was designed to sit at the end of our bed.  I had Peyton help me put a white stain on it so she could have a hand in the project too.  We can’t wait to surprise daddy!

Here is how it looks…

Oh and I found this lamp the other day at Goodwill for $7.  It’s solid wood and has an older looking plug.  I’m in the process of cleaning it up, but thrilled that it works.  I have no idea what I’m going to do with it yet but the potential is HUGE!

Peace In!
