I’m having fun with my summer reading this year.

One of my favorite finds has been 13, rue Thérèse by Elena Mauli Shapiro.  It’s about a man who upon discovering a box filled with memorabilia from the first and second world wars sets out to understand the woman who collected these items.

This book isn’t completely made up.  The author found this very box and use the items to bring to life a delicious little story.  You’ll find pictures of these items through out the book and in the back you’ll find a list of QR codes you can scan with your cell phone to find higher resolution photographs.

I love how this book draws us in, and uses photography and social media to further engage with us.  It’s a mixed media novel!

Peace In!
