So close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
- Pablo Neruda
My husband is getting ready for the road… we did this a lot when we first met. He is a musician, an ole road dog with a gypsy soul who lives to travel. Give that man a backpack and a book and he radiates with happiness, which is slightly ironic because he is a bit of a pack rat… we will talk about that later!
This year for valentines I wanted to give him a little something he could take with him, so I did what all crafty people do, I made him something…
I am thrilled Sea and Be Scene showcased my heart with a collection of talented East Coast artists!
This piece is really personal. The poem is something Jeff sent to me early in our relationship and we included it in our wedding vows. It sums up how we feel about each other. And since we will be spending some ‘not so close’ time together over the next few months it felt like a good time to resurrect it. I actually had to unpack a box of books (yes, I hate to admit it but I still have not unpacked everything from our move in 2010) to find it.
Jeff and I are lucky enough to spend a lot of time together. We both ‘work from home’ and before I started back to school we pretty much dictated our own schedule. We are excited about the adventures we have been presented with this year. Our relationship started this way. Do not get me wrong. I am a little sad, but this can be a lot of fun too. Technology means we can skype, text and email, but romance means we will be mailing cards and sending little trinkets. Long live romance!
