“A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction.
~ Virginia Woolf
I have picked a single word to meditate on and study for 365 for the last few years. I’m not sure how long this has been in practice but every year the idea seems to grow and is becoming an inspiring alternative to the New Year Resolution.
The rules are pretty simple. Think about where you want to be a year from now and choose one word that will help you cultivate it.
My identity as a woman is connected to my roles as daughter, wife and mother and also to my status as a sassy work from home professional and entrepreneur as well as my desire to coach other business owners.
I am fascinated with the collective and historic journey of women and will spend this year studying how being a woman has shaped who I am and what I believe.
As I mentioned the other day my first book of study is called Wise Women (edited by Susan Cahill) and is a collection of spiritual writings by women dating back over 2000 years.
I’m starting broad, but “woman” is a broad word to work with. HA! That was unintentional but I’m leaving it in. My goal is to develop a deep understand of what it means to be a woman, not just now in our present time, but throughout history and share this experience with my daughter.

I’m excited about sharing my journey with you, but as always I’m interested in the one word you picked this year and why.
